Who doesn’t love a flavor packed dressing or dip to dress up any salad, wrap, sandwich, or just for veggie dipping?

My struggle with store bought dressings is they usually are filled with unnecessary preservatives and thickeners and not enough whole food ingredients!

I love this recipe because it not only is loaded with flavorful spices, it’s also a dose of  vegetables all on its own, great if you are trying to include more veggies in your life. Feel free to omit the red pepper flakes for a “spiciness free” version if you have kiddos or just cant handle the spice 🙂


-10 mini sweet peppers or 2-3 bell peppers (red, yellow, or orange)

-1 whole avocado (without skin of course)

-1 stalk celery

-1 large carrot

-4 tablespoons hummus (or 1/4 cup chickpeas)

-2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds

-juice of 1/2 lemon

-1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

-2 teaspoons garlic powder

-1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

-1 tablespoon olive oil

-1 tablespoon dried basil (or 3-5 fresh basil leaves)

-1 tablespoon honey

-1/4 cup water

-salt and pepper to taste


Combine all ingredients in food processor and blend up until thick and smooth. Feel free to add more water if desired for a thinner “dressing” consistency. Store in airtight container for up to a week! (I love using a mason jar for this)
