Another fat burning recipe coming at you!!

Did you know you that you can increase your metabolic rate and help your body burn excess fat just by the food you eat? How cool is that, right?

This recipe:

-includes healthy fats that keep you full and help your body burn excess body fat (fat burns fat….imagine that?!)

-is high in protein to help keep you full as well as retain as much lean muscle as possible

-is a great “make ahead” snack to carry with you on the go

-super kid-friendly, they’ll love helping you make these!

-customizable to your liking! Feel free to add any variety of dried fruit, nuts, etc.

So without further due, let’s get to it!

High Protein Energy Balls

Ingredients:
-250 grams nut butter (I chose natural peanut butter)
-1 tsp. (10 grams) chia seeds
-2 tbs. (28 grams) mini dark chocolate chips
-2 scoops protein powder (I used Optimum Nutrition)
-1/2 cup (50 grams) oatmeal
– 1-2 tbs. (20 grams) dried cranberries
-1 tbs. (20 grams) pumpkin seeds
-1/4-1/2 cup (60 grams) unsweetened shredded coconut
-a sprinkle of cinnamon

Here’s a photo of all ingredients (puppy not included!) Combine all ingredients (except coconut) and mix thoroughly. Honestly it’s easier to use your hands, just make sure they are squeaky clean! Mix well and form into 12 balls (or I like to call them, “little morsels of heaven”). To make sure all balls are equal (if you are tracking your macros and calories) weigh the whole batch in grams and divide that number by 12 so you know how many grams each ball should weigh 🙂

Next, roll each ball in shredded coconut. Place on a piece of parchment paper on top a baking pan (like the photo below)

Place in refrigerator or freezer to harden. Take them out and pop ’em in a baggie or tupperware container and wah la! Your’e done 🙂

Now go eat, burn fat, and be merry!
